Doctor Phone Consultations during Covid-19

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, NEDOC has been following the advice and guidelines of NPHET to make every effort to contain the spread of infection between patients, by minimising unnecessary face to face consultations with patients. 

NEDOC has been managing the vast majority of patient consultations via telephone which is virtually the same as a face to face consultation, taking a history, assessing symptoms, making a diagnosis and advising of appropriate treatment for patients.  Some consultations may take only a few minutes and others will take longer depending on the severity of the presenting symptoms of the patient.

For those patients who do not have a medical or GP visit card, a fee is charged for the doctors telephone consultation, or a face to face consultation if a patient is then advised to attend a centre.
