From Tuesday 26th November 2019, the NEDOC centre based in Navan will relocate on a temporary basis to the Dunshaughlin Health Care Unit. It is intended to return to Navan in March 2020.
The current treatment centre is located in a 20-year old port-a-cabin which is inappropriate for use as a clinical care setting particularly during the winter period.
The HSE has signed an agreement for a new unit in Navan which is currently going through the planning process. It is anticipated that this unit will be ready for use by patients in March 2020.
However in the meantime, the port-a-cabin is simply unfit for purpose and it is not appropriate to spend another winter pressure period with its’ associated demands working from a unit that is so decrepit.
Patients who contact NEDOC on 1850 777 911 and who are given an appointment that would usually be in Navan should instead go to the Health Care Unit in Dunshaughlin which is based on the Main St. of Dunshaughlin, beside St Seachnalls primary school – Eircode A85 WD91.
