When you call NEDOC

  1. When you ring a trained receptionist will take your personal details
  2. Your call will be referred to a triage nurse who will ring you back.
  3. Discuss with the triage nurse whether you need advice, an appointment or referral to the Emergency Department.

You can call us anytime from 6pm-8am Monday to Friday and 24 hours at weekends
and bank holidays.

NEDOC provides urgent out of hours GP care when your own surgery closes in the evening.

Our Service

Due to a Met Eirean Red Weather Alert, the NEDOC treatment centres will not open on Monday 16th October.  A skeleton telephone and triage service will be in operation from 6pm and normal service will resume across all treatment centres on Tuesday 17th October at 6pm.

Welcome to North East Doctor on Call Ltd. NEDOC is a partnership with General Practitioners in the region and the HSE to provide urgent out of hours GP care. We are the service that you contact for urgent care when your surgery closes in the evening and over the course of weekends and bank holidays.

NEDOC covers Monaghan, Cavan, Meath and Louth (with the exception of Dundalk town and surrounding area). We have four treatment centres, in Navan, Cavan, Castleblayney and Drogheda.

U6 Patients must have a valid card with them in order to avail of free GP care.  U6 patients who have not yet been registered for an U6 card, or who have applied for a card and are waiting to receive it, are not covered by the U6 GP Scheme and will be charged for an NEDOC consultation.

The Mother & Infant scheme does not apply to NEDOC consultations. This only applies to your routine check ups with your own GP.  Patients who are pregnant and attend NEDOC will be charged a consultation fee.
